UniGroup 2008 Learning Conference

This February, Primacy participated as a sponsor and exhibitor at the UniGroup Learning Conference held in St. Louis, MO. Pam Dunleavy, Primacy’s Vice President of Business Development, and Steve Alverson, Business Development Director, traveled to the “Gateway City of the South” for UniGroup’s largest annual event.

Each winter, St. Louis-based UniGroup, a privately-owned transportation and Primacy supplier partner, brings in more than 750 sales and operations representatives from its two van lines, United Van Lines and Mayflower Transit, to the Learning Conference. UniGroup, led by Rich McClure, has hosted its conference in St. Louis since the event launched in 1979. The conference was held February 25-28 at the Renaissance Grand Hotel and America's Center.

The four-day event was UniGroup's largest attended conference in the last decade with more than 61 exhibiting business partners providing support.

“Our involvement with UniGroup and conference attendance is immeasurably significant from both a business development and supplier partnership standpoint,” said Dunleavy. “This year’s event was a great success.”

The conference offered 50 class sessions covering crucial subjects affecting today's transportation industry. Contributing speakers included race car driver, Jennifer Jo Cobb, and sales expert, Stephan Schiffman. The keynote speaker at the opening general session was Joe Buck, St. Louis resident and one of today's premier play-by-play broadcasters.
